In 1999, at the direction of the President Judge of the Venango County Court of Common Pleas, the adult intermediate punishment and juvenile probation departments were merged in an effort to create economies and efficiency.
Responsibilities
Assessing offender's risk and needs
Collection of fines, costs, and restitution
Developing case plans
Implementing programs designed to increase offender competencies and reduce recidivism
Preparing recommendations for the Court
Supervision of offenders
Court Supervision Services is committed to providing a balanced approach to the administration of justice. Our programs and supervision strategies are designed to protect the community, hold the offender accountable, restore the victim, and address offender competencies.
Juvenile Justice System Enhancement Strategy
Court Supervision is further committed to the Juvenile Justice System Enhancement Strategy Statement of Purpose which states, "We dedicate ourselves to working in partnership to enhance the capacity of Pennsylvania's juvenile justice system to achieve its balanced and restorative justice mission by:
Collecting and analyzing the data necessary to measure the results of these efforts; and, with this knowledge
Employing evidence-based practices with fidelity at every stage of the juvenile justice process
Striving to continuously improve the quality of our decisions, services and programs
